Gut Health
The main function of the gut is to break down the foods we eat and to absorb the nutrients to support our body’s functions.
The importance of the gut to our overall health is a topic of increasing research in the medical community.
Research is showing us that our gut microbiome can affect every organ in our body so it has a major part to play in our overall health, both physical and mental.
Poor gut health can cause a variety of health problems including digestive issues, sleep disturbances, fatigue, chronic disease like autoimmune disorders, cardiovascular disease and cancer.
The good news is that it is possible to improve our gut health through eating a diet high in plant based fibre and including fermented foods, and through some lifestyle changes.
